How to Keep Relationships Strong

Naomi Brower from USU Extension shares 3 blocks to remove from any relationship.

  1. Criticism: While it’s ok to express concerns in a relationship criticism usually attacks and demeans. That weakens any relationship.
  2. Contempt: The intention to insult your partner. Examples include mockery or even rolling your eyes.
  3. Stonewalling: This means cutting yourself off completely from your partner and not communicating. Stonewalling damages a relationship because change cannot happen without communication.

On the bright side we can replace any negative behavior with positive actions like validation, respect and kindness.
